Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information Luna County Criminal History may receive during a visit, why it is used, and the limited circumstances in which another party may receive it. Continued use of the website indicates acceptance of these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. Luna County Criminal History does not retain or log those search words on its own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email may be kept as needed to respond. It remains within the operating team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

Loading a page can cause the servers to receive routine technical information about the visit:

  • Page-view dates, times, and duration
  • Device type and operating system
  • IP address assigned to the device
  • Browser name and version
  • Pages viewed during the visit
  • A referring website, when one is supplied

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic data, measure popular pages, and show where visits end. A browser can reject cookies, although blocking them may change how some site features behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Route a query to the selected search provider
  • Maintain site speed, uptime, and basic functions
  • Diagnose errors and other technical faults
  • Measure which pages readers use
  • Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Luna County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Luna County Sheriff's Office, New Mexico courts, the New Mexico Department of Public Safety repository, and the New Mexico DPS Sex Offender Registry. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not compiled into a consumer report or a record about another person.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. A partner's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices apply to information submitted to its tool. Those choices are beyond this site's control, so review the provider's policy before running a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links can lead to Luna County offices, New Mexico court and agency portals, legal resources, or private search services. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy terms govern. Review them before providing personal information.

An advertising provider may use its own systems to track activity across websites and select ads. That tracking is controlled by the provider.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:

  • Analytics vendors that measure use and performance
  • Search providers that receive a submitted query
  • Advertising networks that serve page ads
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies when valid legal process compels disclosure

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable standard safeguards are used for collected information. No internet service is fully secure, however, and this site cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be removed upon a valid request.

Your Data Rights

Applicable law may provide additional rights. New Mexico's Inspection of Public Records Act, Sections 14-2-1 through 14-2-12 NMSA 1978, governs access to public-agency records and does not turn this private site into a government custodian. Section 29-10-6 NMSA 1978 separately controls a person's access to their own state arrest-record information. For data held by this site, a user may:

  • Request deletion of applicable personal data
  • Ask what personal information is held
  • Seek correction of inaccurate information
  • Opt out of processing where the law provides that choice

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised. A new version becomes available here with an updated effective date, and continued use is subject to that posted version.
